Play episode
TaNesha Barnes

TaNesha Barnes is a mother, global lifestyle entrepreneur, and historian. She’s made her mark in beauty and in travel with several successful ventures including T. Barnes Skin Care and T. Barnes Global Travel. A chance encounter on a flight to Morocco earlier this year turned into a budding business relationship that she describes as the “perfect pivot”.

As the newly named General Manager of S’bai Palace in Morocco, TaNesha is re-envisioning the future of travel by cultivating a creative community that bridges the divide between African-Americans and the Continent. She does this while raising her daughter, Solana, to be a fearless and adventurous global citizen.

TaNesha’s Blaxit Blueprint

1. Ambitious Apprentice: During her formative years, TaNesha spent time working for successful entrepreneurs including Victor and Carole Gellineau the founders of Carole Joy Creations, a Black-owned greeting card company. That early exposure planted the seed for her future entrepreneurial endeavors.

2. Global Dweller: TaNesha developed a love of travel at a young age, boldly studying abroad in Russia following the Cold War. As an adult, she continued to travel the world, sourcing materials and servicing clients with her young daughter in tow.

3. Perfecting the Pivot: Relocating to Morocco in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic has enabled TaNesha to take on a new challenge—re-envisioning a palace. Taking on such a challenge in a conservative, male-dominated society, has allowed TaNesha to gain a greater understanding of Moroccan culture while affording her and her daughter a lifestyle of unimaginable opulence.
